1. A country finale between Scotty and Lauren would be dull and alienate a large portion of Idol viewers. The producers would have to get Lauren to sing more cross-over stuff because she’s the only one who can really do it but that isn’t who she really is and honestly, her strength is with songs…
My thoughts exactly. I have to admit I’ve already forgotten about the songs Scotty sang yesterday.

i agree with you, the kids wouldn’t understand the line anyway. was unnecessary.
True. They probably wouldn’t even have heard all the words in the line, let alone have understood what the combination of the words in the line mean. And ”is she perverted like me” makes no sense anymore in context to the following line that’s been changed. Besides these two points, I also believe you just shouldn’t mess with the lyrics of a song written by someone else.

Bloody americans! And they bleep craig?!? His show airs at 12:30am!
I wanted to like this reply, but since that is impossible I’ll do it this way: *like*
I understand ‘American Idol’ is a family show and young children are watching, but changing “is she perverted like me, would she go down on you in a theater” to “is she perverted like me, would she go out with you to the theater”……. ..Really???
Maybe “going out to the theater with someone” is something perverted that I know nothing about though. There are plenty of songs with less “rude” lyrics, so it would be a lot easier to just pick from those. I’m not blaming Haley for this though, since ‘You Oughta Know’ was the judge’s choice for her.
She has really has such an interesting voice. This song was just made for her. Listen to her performance (above).
Too bad she also fell during her performance of Led Zeppelin’s What Is & What Should Never Be. She acted like a professional though and got right back and kept on singing. Good girl! Check out her fall after the jump.” —American Idol’s Haley Reinart Does Fleetwood Mac, Falls On Stage | PerezHilton.com
